Chevy Equinox EV 2024
Chevy’s new equinox ev battery size SUV will be the brand’s first entry into the crossover utility vehicle (CUV) segment, a key part of the American market that accounts for nearly one in four new vehicles sold. It’s also the company’s first SUV to offer a long-range, all-wheel drive option. The Equinox EV is scheduled to arrive this calendar year and will cost $34,995 before the $7,500 federal EV tax credit that most buyers will qualify for and be able to claim up front at the dealership.
The EV Revolution: How Electric Cars Are Changing the Market
Each Equinox EV is fitted with an 85-kilowatt-hour, ten-module battery pack. It gives FWD models an EPA-estimated driving range of 319 miles and all-wheel-drive versions 285 miles.
Front-drive Equinox EVs have a permanent magnet motor that produces 212 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, which Chevy quotes as delivering a 0-to-60 time of 8.0 seconds. AWD variants add a second motor to the rear axle that cuts 0-60 times by another two seconds and provides 288-horsepower and 333 lb-ft of twist.
Equinox EVs can be charged at home overnight with a Level 2 charger using 240-Volts. They’re compatible with 150-kW DC fast charging stations that can replenish up to 77 miles of range in about 10 minutes.
